Sloan’s Lake was envisioned as more than a redevelopment project—it was designed to create long-term housing stability in one of Denver’s fastest-appreciating neighborhoods. The redevelopment intentionally integrates permanently affordable rental housing, permanently affordable homeownership, the first Denver Public Schools Educator Housing Program, and market-rate residences within a single community, demonstrating how thoughtful development can preserve opportunity while strengthening neighborhoods.
Among the community’s most significant innovations is Colorado’s first Denver Public Schools Educator Housing Program. Seven three-bedroom apartments are reserved for families experiencing housing insecurity, allowing participating students to remain in the same school until their youngest child graduates—providing educational continuity at a time when housing instability too often disrupts academic success. Together with permanently affordable rental housing, permanently affordable homeownership, and market-rate residences, the project creates a true continuum of housing rarely achieved within a single redevelopment.
